Our Sustainability Promise
Responsible design starts with conscious decisions that consider people, materials and longevity.
At Cotswold Furniture, sustainability begins with responsibility.
Responsibility in how products are designed, how materials are sourced, and how our people are treated. We believe that meaningful change comes from informed choices and long-term thinking, not short-term solutions.
Our goal is to curate furniture that aligns with these values. We work closely with international brands including Vincent Sheppard, FAST, Barlow Tyrie and Cotswold Teak and Heatsail, who share our commitment to thoughtful design, transparency and accountability.
Designed to last
Durability is one of the most powerful sustainability principles. All of the collections we offer are designed to last through years of use, changing environments and evolving needs. This is achieved through robust construction, replaceable components and materials chosen for their resilience rather than trend driven appeal.
Wherever possible, we also offer cushion replacement services to extend the life of soft furnishings. By refreshing covers or cushions rather than replacing entire pieces, we help reduce waste while keeping furniture comfortable, functional and looking its best.
By extending the life of each product, we help reduce waste and encourage a slower, more considered approach to furnishing.
Responsible materials and sourcing
Material choice sits at the core of our sustainability approach. Across our collections, priority is given to responsibly sourced teak from certified and legally verified forests, recycled and recyclable aluminium, and materials selected for their low maintenance and long service life.
Our partners actively minimise material waste during production, repurpose off cuts where possible, and embrace circular principles such as material recovery and reuse. Aluminium used within many collections is highly recyclable and increasingly sourced from recycled content, supporting a closed loop approach to manufacturing.
Ethical production and people first practices
Sustainability extends beyond materials to the people behind each product. Along the brands we work with, we are committed to fair employment practices, safe working conditions and transparent supply chains. Independent audits, certifications and codes of conduct help ensure ethical labour standards are upheld, including the prohibition of child labour and forced labour, and compliance with local wage and safety regulations.
Transparency and continuous improvement
We recognise that sustainability is not a fixed destination. It is an ongoing process of learning, measuring and improving. Our partners actively track environmental impact across production, energy use and emissions, and are investing in renewable energy, efficiency improvements and more responsible manufacturing methods over time.
At Cotswold Furniture, we are committed to sharing this journey transparently, helping our customers understand not just what they are buying, but how it is made.
By curating brands that share our values, we support a more responsible approach to outdoor furniture, one that considers environmental and social responsibility and not only design, comfort and performance. Every considered choice contributes to a future where outdoor spaces are furnished with care, intention and respect for the world around us.
